Beyoncé's certainly no stranger to product endorsements and movie tie-ins - Check On It falls into the second category, providing the soundtrack to this year's The Pink Panther remake, in which she stars. It'll probably be a complete turkey of a movie, and although the booty-wiggling catchiness we've come to expect from the mega-selling star is present and correct in this single, it's all so drudgingly repetitive and predictable that it's hard to muster up much enthusiasm for it. The basic premise is an account of the qualities required to get jiggy with Beyoncé (apparently "You need to stop playing around with the clowns and the wankstas") - something we've heard many times before and, quite frankly, don't really give a damn about any more. Perhaps she ought to start thinking what she needs to do for us for a change.
