Picking up more gushing accolades than their egos can possibly know what to do with, Montreal's Arcade Fire appear to have ascended to greatness with their second album, the awe-inspiring Neon Bible. That this first single doesn't seem to be the fans' favourite and yet still sounds like a classic should hint at the album's sheer calibre. Like Springsteen meets The Cure, Keep The Car Running bristles with urgency and an almost cinematic sense of melodrama, its layers of strings, piano, pounding drums and driving guitars capturing a scene of imminent escape with breathtaking clarity.
