Akon's debut LP, Trouble, is selling like half-price hotcakes both Stateside and over
here - enough to forewarn you that, first and foremost, his particular brand of hip hop
(although it's closer to R&B in truth) has an extremely commercial flavour. Lonely
crosses the line between mass appeal and asinine drivel, though, thanks to its truly
hideous munchkin chorus, which rivals even that irksome singing frog ringtone and
leaves our fingers twitching with the desire to strangle Alvin and his fellow
Chipmunks for all the damage they've inflicted upon the world.
